Anything You Want

My notes

Ideas are worthless unless executed. Ideas are just multiplier of a execution. You must be careful of executing bad ideas, and not executing great ideas, because they can bring the same poor outcome. Also be careful of executing awful ideas, because they multiplier can be negative.

There is nothing wrong with not growing big (like in bodybuilding, there is nothing wrong if you don't become professional bodybuilder, but just stay fit). Don't get a hostage your own business. If it no longer make you happy, try to delegate as much things as possible, so that you can stick with doing things that you love to do.

"Never forget that you can make your role anything you want it to be. Anything you hate to do, someone else loves. So find that person and let him do it."

I loved sitting alone and programming, writing, planning, and inventing. Thinking of ideas and making them happen. This makes me happy, not business deals or management. So I found someone who liked doing business deals and put him in charge of al that. If you do this, you'l encounter a lot of pushback and misunderstanding, but who cares? You can't just live someone else's expectation of a traditional business. You have to just do whatever you love the most, or you'l lose interest in the whole thing.

But remember, don't abdicate. Delegate, but don't abdicate. Meaning that you should trust but verify. If you want your employees make sole decisions according to your philosophy, you have to learn them your philosophy, write manifesto and ask the what would they do in some situation, if it's wrong, correct them. You are the one that know how to attract customers and earn money, you were doing it for years alone, so your employees should listen and learn because in this field you are the authority.
